Every resource, and how to actually get it

Patch 2.0.1

Six resources have published farming routes. The one most people search for — Yeuco — has a single mechanic that decides whether you get any at all, and most players kill the enemy the wrong way.

The short answer

Resources are the gate between "I have a build idea" and "I have the build". Most arrive by playing. Four need specific handling, and one — Yeuco — is routinely wasted because people kill the target at the wrong moment.

Quick facts
  • Currency — Gats
  • Fungi — Romphus · Gussula · Beezia · Yeuco
  • High-tier — Saxonite
  • Meta — Upgrade Points
  • Disputed count — 7 or 8

Gats — the currency you should not hoard

The standard galactic currency, used for basic upgrades and purchases.

How to get it: complete missions. You always earn some Gats, even on a failed run — which makes Gats the one resource a bad night still pays out.

Romphus — break the growth, not the enemy

A rare fungus found on infected enemies.

How to get it: kill enemies that show fungal growth, and destroy the infected area itself. The drop comes from the growth, so a clean headshot on a host that leaves the growth intact is the slow way to farm it.

Gussula — a timing check, not a fight

Gussula is a small mushroom creature that runs. It is also the only resource that punishes you for holding a weapon.

How to get it: find a bright orange bulb near the ground, punch it with no weapon equipped, then double jump and punch it again as the stem pulls it up and away. If it escapes, it despawns. There is no second attempt on the same bulb.

Beezia — three container puzzles

Beezia cannot be carried; it has to be released from a locked container.

How to get it: look for dark barrels with a couple of blue stripes near the top and bottom. There are three interface types:

  • The switch: tap it to flip is_open from false to true.
  • The six dots: some are green, some are red with a hole in the middle. Tap every red dot until it turns green.
  • The ring: rotate the outer circle with a spur until it lines up with the notch on the inner circle.

Once open, the Beezia is collected automatically — no pickup needed.

Yeuco — throw, coat, then kill

This is the resource people search for, and the mechanic is narrower than it looks.

How to get it: pick up a glowing green Yeuco bomb during a mission, throw it at an enemy to coat it, and then kill that enemy while it is still coated. The Yeuco only drops if the kill happens while the target is coated. A sticky fruiting body that fuses with metal — which is why the coating is the whole mechanism.

The efficiency trick: wait for a dense group, use a Vacuum Tube grenade to cluster them, then throw the Yeuco so one bomb coats several targets. You still have to kill each coated enemy, but you stop paying one bomb per drop.

Saxonite — the high-tier wall

A proprietary SAXON resource mined on New Atlas, with properties that affect gravity, time and space. In practice it is the resource that gates the two hidden weapons: the Carver's four modules need two Saxonite each, eight total.

How to get it: high-threat missions. Early Access drop rates quoted by the Carver guide were roughly 30% at Threat 6, 28% at Threat 5 and 21% at Threat 4 — and it is not worth farming below Threat 4.

The guaranteed route: complete the Overtime Assignment, which is locked to Threat 5/6 with six modifiers and requires level 12. One completion guarantees a Saxonite.

Upgrade Points — the one thing you cannot farm

Earned on every level up, used to unlock permanent upgrades on any character. There is no other source, which makes them the only resource in the game where "farm harder" is not an answer. See level gates for where the levels actually come from.

Where they go

SaxoniteHigh-tier weapon modules (Carver)
YeucoHigher-level upgrades mixing organic and metal
GussulaWeapon level unlocks (e.g. Accelerator level 3 needs 2)
Self-Replicating Acid BlobGround Zero content

The count is genuinely disputed

One guide lists seven resources. The community wiki lists eight, adding Self-Replicating Acid Blob and an unnamed entry rendered as ???. Averaging two sources would produce a fake number — the six farming routes above are the ones every source agrees on.

One 2.0.1 note

The first post-launch patch fixed the Fulfillment for collecting Saxito bags not progressing. If you had been collecting Saxito bags and watching the counter sit still, that was a bug, not a missing prerequisite.

Frequently asked

How do you get Yeuco in Mycopunk?
Find a glowing green Yeuco bomb during a mission, throw it at an enemy to coat it, then kill that enemy while it is still coated. If the enemy dies before it is coated, no Yeuco drops. Clustering enemies with a Vacuum Tube grenade first lets one throw coat several targets.
How do you get Saxonite fast?
Overtime Assignments, which are locked to Threat 5 and 6 with six modifiers and require level 12 — one completion guarantees a Saxonite. Otherwise it is a drop chance from high-threat missions, roughly 30% at Threat 6 in Early Access numbers.
How do you catch Gussula?
Punch the orange bulb with no weapon equipped, then double jump and punch it again as the stem pulls it upward. If it escapes, it despawns.
How many resources are in Mycopunk?
Disputed. One guide lists seven, the community wiki lists eight and includes Self-Replicating Acid Blob plus an unnamed one. The six farming routes below are consistent across sources.
