PS5, PS Plus and the crossplay answer

The short answer

Mycopunk is on PS5, it launched 20 October 2026 at 5:00 PM UTC (1:00 PM EDT), and it entered the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog on day one.

• PS Plus Extra / Premium: included at no extra cost.
• PS Plus Essential: not included — Essential does not get catalog games.
• No subscription: $14.99 on the PlayStation Store, with no launch discount.

The price gap nobody explains

This is the most useful thing on the page: the two storefronts charged differently at launch.

So the "same" game cost half as much on PC during launch week — unless you were already paying for PS Plus Extra, in which case the PS5 version was free. That is not a pricing strategy you can generalise from; it is just what the two stores did.

What the PS5 version does and does not have

Confirmed on the store listing:

• 1 player offline, up to 4 online players with PS Plus.
• Online play optional — you can play the whole thing solo.
• DualSense vibration supported.
• PS5 version, ESRB Mature.

Confirmed absent:

• Crossplay. See below.
• Cross-save / cross-progression. A PS5 profile starts from scratch; nothing official says Steam progress can move.
• Split screen / couch co-op. Online only, one system per player.

Crossplay: the evidence, not the vibe

The answer is no, and it is worth showing why, because "no crossplay" pages age badly when a studio patches it in. The full breakdown — including cross-save, the studio's own replies and what it means for a split squad — sits on the crossplay page.

• The launch-day 1.0 patch notes do not mention crossplay or cross-save.
• The PS Store listing does not list cross-platform play.
• The Steam page does not carry Steam's Cross-Platform Multiplayer tag — and Steam does have that tag.
• The studio has only ever called crossplay a goal: in April 2025, asked on the Steam discussion board, the Pigeons at Play account replied that for Early Access they would be on Steam but down the line we hope to release on consoles with crossplay. Hope, not commitment.
• On 3 September 2026 the studio confirmed the console version. A fan asked "With crossplay?" — as of 20 October, no answer.

Trophies

The PS5 list has 49 trophies: 1 platinum, 1 gold, 17 silver and 30 bronze, worth 1,350 points. Steam has 48 achievements for the same content — the platinum is the extra entry.

The two lists otherwise track each other, including the eight hidden achievements and the objectives added in 1.0 (X11-B, Expedition Alpha, Incursion floor 10).

One known PS5-only bug

The 1.0 known-issues list includes a PlayStation-specific defect: hat effects not showing in the inventory in single-player. Cosmetic, not progression-blocking, and worth knowing before you assume your account is broken.

Should you buy it on PS5 or PC?

Three questions, in order:

1. Where are the people you want to play with? No crossplay means this decides it. Nothing else on this page overrides it.
2. Do you already pay for PS Plus Extra or Premium? If yes, the PS5 version is included, and that is the cheapest route by a wide margin.
3. Do you care about the launch price? Steam was half price until 3 November; the PS Store was not discounted at all.

If the answer to all three is "no preference", the PC version has one practical edge beyond price: built-in voice chat, added in the 1.9 update, which runs on Discord's social SDK without needing a Discord account or the app. It defaults to push-to-talk, with open mic in the audio settings, and 1.0 added an input-device selector.
